Alfriston is ideal for walkers as we are situated directly on the South Downs Way.

On arriving in Alfriston, you wil realise what a unique and interesting village this is, with a variety of small shops, pubs and restaurants all within the High Street. A short walk from the High Street is St. Andrew’s Church (known as the Cathedral of the South Downs), as well as the Clergy House, the first National Trust property, bought in 1896 for £10.00. If you stroll a little further to the White Bridge, you will see the Cuckmere River.

Alfriston is an ideal base for spending time to tour and visit the many places of interest in East Sussex, some of which include Drusilla’s Park Zoo, The English Wine Centre, Charleston Farmhouse (Home of the 1930s Bloomsbury Set), Middle Farm, Glyndebourne and Seaford, or further afield Eastbourne, Brighton, Lewes, Battle and Rye.
